Van de Valle is looking for a passionate and skilled Full-Time Barista to join our team at the vibrant Port 27 Lake Hamilton location. Responsibilities:
Prepare and serve a variety of coffee, tea, and other beverages to our high standards.
Operate coffee-making equipment, including espresso machines, grinders, and brewers.
Provide exceptional customer service, taking orders accurately and efficiently.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring all health and safety guidelines are followed.
Engage with customers in a friendly, professional, and courteous manner.
Handle credit card transactions with precision.
Educate customers on our menu items and promotions.
Learn and teach our coffee tasting and be able to perform this coffee tasting for customers.
Requirements:
Previous experience as a barista or in a similar customer service role is preferred.
Knowledge of coffee and tea preparation techniques.
A valid food handler's certificate or the ability to obtain one upon hiring is required.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
Bilingual preferred, English/Spanish.
A positive attitude and a strong work ethic.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
